National Girls & Women in Sports Day

NGWSD honors the achievements of girls and women in sports and continues to Lead Her Forward by acknowledging the power of sports to unlock her limitless potential.

This year, we’re continuing our mission to help at least 63% of Omaha girls get active in sports. While funding plays a key role, it’s just one piece of the puzzle. Having diverse role models who reflect our community is just as crucial. That’s why we’ve partnered with 9 local organizations that champion a range of women, inspiring our girls and showing them what’s possible.

From January 31 through February 8 we’ll be hosting events alongside our partners at the Women’s Sports Foundation, SET. The Bar, Creighton University, UNO, College of Saint Mary, Bellevue University, Omaha Supernovas, LOVB, Nebraska Pride, and Omaha GOATS.

EPIC for Girls desires a community that values girls of color in sports. Through research, advocacy, and funding of innovative and long-lasting solutions that address inequities, we will realize this vision. However, we need your support to make that happen.
